Chuck Pruitt

Co-Managing Director

Dr. Chuck Pruitt is a Co-Managing Director of A.B. Data, Ltd., where he oversees the day-to-day operations of the A.B. Data Group of companies, employing almost 400 people across the United States and Israel. He leads the ABD Direct division where he is passionate about client partners who are working every day to change the world by protecting civil and human rights, reducing gun violence, preserving the U.S. – Israel relationship, combating climate change, and helping the most vulnerable among us.  Dr. Pruitt considers himself fortunate to be part of a company that doesn’t just work for anyone with a checkbook.

Chuck considers his work in the 2008 and 2012 Obama for America campaigns to be the highlight of his professional career — fulfilling a dream to help elect and re-elect the most transformative political figure to emerge in his lifetime and helping to raise more money through direct mail than any campaign in American political history.  Being able to draw from those experiences in the years since, he takes great pride in having played a small role in redefining grassroots advocacy and fundraising for some of the most important non-profit organizations in the country.  That remains a work in progress and inspires him every day to challenge assumptions and look for new ways to achieve excellence.

Dr. Pruitt received his undergraduate degree from Macalester College and his M.A. and Ph.D. in Political Science from Harvard University. Prior to joining ABD Direct, he was a professor of political science at St. Olaf College in Northfield, Minnesota.

When he is not driving A.B. Data’s success, Chuck enjoys contributing to various boards and foundations.  Returning to his higher education roots, he served 13 years on the University of Wisconsin Board of Regents, including four years as Vice President and President of the Board. He currently is on the Board of Visitors of the La Follette School of Public Policy at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.  He serves as a Trustee for the Herb Kohl Foundation and is a member of the Greater Milwaukee Committee.  Chuck enjoys all things Milwaukee, from great local restaurants, local events, and always supporting our local sports teams.
